Manuel Alejandro Ramírez was born and raised in Colombia, in a childhood marked by constant movement, air bases, and the ever-present sound of aircraft. The son of a Colombian Air Force officer, he grew up among different air bases across the country, learning from an early age the values of discipline, responsibility, and respect for the sky. Although his childhood unfolded in many places, it was Manizales that became the emotional landscape where his deepest memories remain: family, imagination, and the first dreams that were already pointing toward the sky.

From a young age, he developed a deep love for aviation. For him, it was not only about flying, but about understanding the silence before takeoff, the precision behind every decision, and the responsibility of being alone with the sky. This calling led him to join the Colombian Air Force, where he trained as a military pilot and aeronautical administrator, graduating in 1999. During this stage he built the technical and human foundation that would shape his character for the rest of his life.

In 2004, Alejandro moved to the United States to expand his academic and professional horizons. In 2005 he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in marketing from Intercontinental University in the United States. He later complemented his education with a specialization in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Harvard University, strengthening his strategic, creative, and entrepreneurial vision.

His aviation career has developed on a global scale. Alejandro has flown around the world and operated a wide variety of aircraft.

With nearly 10,000 flight hours, his experience combines military, executive, and international aviation. He currently serves as a professional pilot and Client Aviation Manager (CAM), managing aircraft operations, maintenance, and strategic planning.

Parallel to aviation, Alejandro has been a writer throughout his life. From a young age he wrote poetry, especially love poetry, as well as introspective texts as a way of understanding life, emotions, and human relationships. This vocation led him to publish several books, including:

DJ FL450: Music from Above

​

Music has always been present in his life, but about a year ago Alejandro decided to take a definitive step and begin composing, writing, and producing original music entirely of his own creation. Under the artistic name DJ FL450, he launched a deeply personal project exploring electronic music, vallenato, and rap. Rap has become the genre through which he most authentically expresses his story without filters.

The name DJ FL450 comes from aviation. In aeronautical terms, FL450 (Flight Level 450) represents an altitude of 45,000 feet, a level typically reserved for high-performance aircraft where the air is cleaner, the noise remains far below, and perspective changes completely. For Alejandro, DJ FL450 symbolizes creating from that emotional and symbolic altitude: from experience, distance, and clarity. It is music created above the noise, yet deeply connected to truth.

Why Preciosa Colombia Is the First Album

​

Although the musical project includes multiple albums, Preciosa Colombia is the first to be released because it represents the emotional origin of the entire journey. It reflects the most beautiful moments of flying across Colombia, a country that not only saw him born but also shaped him as a pilot and as a human being.

Each song is inspired by a Colombian city and by the unique sensations of flying above it: the approach, the weather, the geography, the silence of the cockpit, and the emotion of landing. It is not a fictional concept album but a deeply lived work where every track translates real feelings of flight, memory, and belonging.

More broadly, all the lyrics and compositions of DJ FL450 are inspired by both aviation and his experiences traveling the world, from China to Europe and North America, to places as authentic and profound as Quibdó, Colombia. Every song is born from a route, a landing, a story, or a lived moment.
